Mexican-American Soprano, Ofelia Adame, is originally from Beaumont, Texas and has resided in Houston, Texas for the last seven years. An alumna of Lamar University of Beaumont, Texas, Mrs. Adame obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance in 2007 after studying with the late vocal pedagogue, Dr. Barbara Mathis. She then joined the chorus of the prestigious Houston Grand Opera during their 2007-2008 opera season, with her initial contract in the chorus of Un ballo in Maschera. She has since had the opportunity to participate in multiple opera productions singing in the choruses of works such as La Traviata, Aida, and Götterdämmerung. She was also one of the 120 voices in the company’s presentation of Verdi’s Requiem and most recently was in the prouctions of Die Fliegende Holländer, Florencia en el Amazonas, and Les Pêcheurs de Perles. She will be participating in the company’s upcoming production of Don Giovanni.
Keeley Hooker has a master’s degree in vocal performance and pedagogy from Texas State University. She has been professionally singing throughout the country for six years. During that time, Ms. Hooker has been in several choral ensembles including Southwestern University Chorale, at one point touring around Italy to perform sacred music and the San Gabriel Chorale as a paid singer. She also enjoys a healthy career in opera, both performing and directing. She is currently teaching voice and piano lessons in the Woodlands and is serving as the Artistic Director of Texas Hill Country Opera and Arts.
