Artistic Director
Brandon Ramos is the Founder and Artistic Director of Avanzare Vocal Ensemble, a Conroe-based chamber choir committed to delivering professional-quality choral music to the Montgomery County community. With a passion for community music-making, Brandon has contributed to numerous community groups across different musical backgrounds, including the Northeast Orchestra of Tarrant County, the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra, The Fort Worth Community Band, and the Wesleyan Chorale.
Mr. Ramos earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Sam Houston State University, where he studied with Dr. Brian Herrington and Dr. Kyle Kindred. He studied private voice with Dr. Evangelina Colon and was a student of Dr. Emily Howes Heilman. As a tenor, Brandon sang with the SHSU Chorale, the flagship choir under the direction of Dr. Joshua Bronfman. Additionally, he has performed with the Center for Early Music Research and Performance (CEMRAP) Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Mario Aschauer. Brandon has also served as a singer for St. James the Apostle Episcopal Church in Conroe, where the choir performed in significant cultural venues such as Wells, Lincoln, Oxford, Gloucester, and St. Paul's Cathedrals during their tour in England.
Since then, Brandon has served as the Director of Music at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe and is currently the Director of Music at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Magnolia, Texas. With his extensive experience in music and leadership, Brandon brings a wealth of knowledge and talent to his role as Artistic Director of Avanzare Vocal Ensemble.
